Hello!
I've done several productions of low-cost stage productions (i.e. "Night of the Living Drag Queens) and we always run into situations where we need to cut someone's throat with a knife, and have blood running down the neck. No matter how low the productions costs are, one thing that I really don't want to cut corners on is the realism of the throat-slicing. What I've found on line and in catalogues are unrealistic, cheesy-looking plastic knives that involve the manipulation of some kind of external plastic bubble filled with red syrup and a tube that runs on the outside of the blade. The problem with this kind of knife is obvious: the killer must take extra moments on stage to grip the knife and the blood-sack in just the right manner in order to avoid showing the audience the tubes, and to squeeze the blood-sack properly. Too complicated.
So my question is: is there a realistic, safe knife that contains blood in the handle, small periforations at the edge of the blade, an easy-to- squeeze trigger, and no external tubing? (about the size of a butcher's knife - metallic looking too.) If you know of such a prop, I'd love to own one. Thanks. Toby.

Hi, I don't type well so I'll be brief , there is a product called A/b blood that creates red blood when two chemicals "A" + "B"
inter mix I've never used it but it's out there. I've built blood rigs before they are not too difficult. If I were to try , I would find a cheap hollow plastic knife and turn it into bladder and dress it out . Aluminum tape can make a plastic blade glimmer and it's available in hardware stores. then I would pull a switch on the audience. Let them see a realish knife with a dull aluminium shank drop it stick it into somthing then switch and slice with the blood rig.
